Spring’s Alive – New song for you.
Posted on 8 Apr 2013
Hello everybody and hope you’re well. After about a month of having a cold and flu and the like and seeing as though Spring still hasn’t decided to commit itself, I recorded a video of a newish song of mine Spring’s Alive. It was inspired by an email I got from Birdwatch Ireland last year entitled Spring Alive and the song came out of that as they were talking about when the first swallows would arrive back to Ireland. Here’s to good health and some south westerly warm winds! The lyrics are below if you prefer to have a read as well.
Spring’s Alive
I’m waiting for the first swallow
of the spring of the spring
to return to return with a song to sing.
I’m waiting for that treasured light
of the Sun of the Sun
to rise up to rise up
Like a shadow gun
Oh and I can Feel those rays
Shining down on better days
My friend now that you’ve arrived
Spring’s Alive
Spring’s Alive
I’ve had those days where torment rules
thought I was mad
Now I’m glad
To keep on with a song cause it’s not so bad
I know we’re like a weighing scales
it’s a balancin’ act
to keep flat
I am here all through the year Don’t forget that
Oh and there’ll be no delays
When you call on me always
My friend now that you’ve arrived
Spring’s Alive Spring’s Alive
Oh and I can Feel those rays
Shining down on better days
My friend now that you’ve arrived
Spring’s alive
Spring’s Alive
And I feel fine
And I feel fine
