An Bua Ag B'lÁth Chliath
Posted on 13 Sep 2011
I heard through the grapevine last week that Cormac at An Ghlóir Anoir in Raidió Na Gaeltachta was looking for a song as gaeilge for the Dubs for the final. My first thoughts were, Oh No…. I could never do that …. Don’t know all the team members … Haven’t been to their training sessions etc. But then I recalled a co-write that I had done with Enda Cullen about a month ago which had a Dublin theme and a few hours of translating later An Bua Ag B’lÁth Chliath was born. You can hear it free at my bandcamp site here and download it for a €1.
Chuala mé an tseachtain seo chaite go raibh amhrán ag teastáil uaidh Cormac ag An Ghlóir Anoir do na Dubs don craobh. Ar dtús níor cheap mé go mbeadh mé i ann dó ach rinneas aistriúchán ar amhrán a bhíos ag obair air le déanaí, le Enda Cullen. Sin as a dtánaigh an t-amhrán, An Bua ag B’lÁth Chliath. Is féidir é a chloisteáil ar mo suíomh Bandcamp anseo nó faoi bhun.
[…] Tá roinnt amhrán Béarla cumtha go speisialta don chluiche ceannais – an ceann greannmhar seo ó na Merry Ploughboys san áireamh – ach tá na Gaeil istigh ar an aicsean chomh maith agus is é an Duibhlinneach bródúil Enda Reilly atá ag léiriú an bhealaigh lena amhrán úrnua An Bua Ag Bleá Cliath. […]
Is maith liom an t-amhrán, “Beidh an bua ag B’lÁth Cliath”.
Go raibh míle maith agat Ruadhán!
