Christmas Wings

Posted on 22 Dec 2009

Happy Christmas! Here’s a light hearted Christmas song I wrote a few weeks back. Feel free to download it. I played it last night at the Lazy Band’s Christmas do, which was great craic and again at Stephen James Smith’s Glór Sessions which was equally deadly. I also did a version on Radio Tallaght last Saturday and there’ll hopefully be a podcast of that soon.

Enda Reilly Christmas Wings

All year long I’ve been waiting

For the cool north wind to blow

To see all my friends skating

And throwing snowballs in the snow

Don’t need no gloves

A scarf or a hat

Only one thing I need and that’s to

Put on my Christmas Wings

It’s that time of year again

Fly on til my heart sings

It’s time for the cheer again

All year long I’ve been pining

For the big tree in the window

To see all the lights shining

And the presents waiting below.

But don’t need no gloves

A scarf or a hat

Only one thing I need and that’s to

Put on my Christmas Wings

It’s that time of year again

Fly on til my heart sings

It’s time for the cheer again

Flying above cloud 9 I am free

I’m flying  home to my family

Don’t need no gloves

A scarf or a hat

Only one thing I need and that’s to

Put on my Christmas Wings

It’s that time of year again

Fly on til my heart sings

It’s time for the cheer again

So let’s put on our Christmas Wings

It’s that time of year again
