Footprints in the Air
Posted on 21 Dec 2009
Here’s a new song with a different angle on the Carbon Footprint.. Since writing it I’ve guilted myself into not reboiling the kettle as much which is a success in itself. It’s a little longer and Jammier than most of my songs. It was inspired by some comedians I saw at the Cool Earth as part of the Festival of World Cultures this year.

I’ve got a footprint
You can’t see it in my I walk
I’ve got a footprint
You can’t see it when I run
I’ve got a footprint
You can’t see it in the snow
I’ve got a footprint
You can’t see it in the sand
I press my foot down
When the lights are on all day
I press my foot down
When the toast has burnt away
I press my foot down
When my life is on standby
I press my foot down
When I boil 3 or 4 times
(before I make my tea)
You can see
You can see
But where?
They’re microscopic
We leave our footprints in the air x2
I’ve got a footprint x3
Can’t you see my footprints
When I carry in the coal
Can’t you see my footprints
When I’m racin’ down the road
Can’t you see his footprints
When he books his Ryanair
Can’t you see her footprints
When she’s dryin her hair
You can see
You can see
But where?
They’re microscopic
We leave our footprints in the air. X2
I’ve got a footprint
You can’t see it when I walk
You can’t see it when I run
You can’t see it in the snow
You can’t even see it in the sand
Ch
You can see
You can see
But where?
They’re microscopic
We leave our footprints in the air. X2
Ice in the Poles
Canary in the Coals
