Ealaín ar Oileán

Posted on 23 Sep 2011

Tá an-áthas orm bheith páirteach in Ealaín ar Oileán i mbliana mar chuid don Oíche Chultúir. Beidh Cathy McEvoy ag seinnt an fiddle liom ag an gceol choirm anocht in Áras Éanna, Inis Oirr. Táim ag tnúth go mór leis.

I’m very happy to be playing at Ealaín ar Oileán, a forum of discussion about art in Irish,  as part of the Culture night. Cathy McEvoy will join me on the fiddle at the gig this evening in Áras Éanna on Inisheer.

An Bua Ag B'lÁth Chliath

Posted on 13 Sep 2011

I heard through the grapevine last week that Cormac at An Ghlóir Anoir in Raidió Na Gaeltachta was looking for a song as gaeilge for the Dubs for the final. My first thoughts were, Oh No…. I could never do that …. Don’t know all the team members  … Haven’t been to their training sessions etc. But then I recalled a co-write that I had done with Enda Cullen about a month ago which had a Dublin theme and a few hours of translating later An Bua Ag B’lÁth Chliath was born. You can hear it free at my bandcamp site here and download it for a €1.

Chuala mé an tseachtain seo chaite go raibh amhrán ag teastáil uaidh Cormac ag An Ghlóir Anoir do na Dubs don craobh. Ar dtús níor cheap mé go mbeadh mé i ann dó ach rinneas aistriúchán ar amhrán a bhíos ag obair air le déanaí, le Enda Cullen. Sin as a dtánaigh an t-amhrán, An Bua ag B’lÁth Chliath. Is féidir é a chloisteáil ar mo suíomh Bandcamp anseo nó faoi bhun.
